Accessibility

At Texas Premier Technology Institute, Inc. we aim at providing equal learning access to all. That is why, we are committed to accessibility. Our courses and labs are ADA compliant. The courses contain Accessibility Switch for the TTS which helps in a better learning outcome for our users. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has laid down the main international standards for the World Wide Web and its accessibility. W3C created the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) which requires specific techniques for the ADA compliance.

Keyboard Accessibility

TPTI course come with full control of functionality on the keyboard. Our courses provide input through speech (which creates keyboard input), by mouse (using on-screen keyboards), and by a wide variety of assistive technologies that create simulated keystrokes as their output. The keyboard accessibility includes access key, tab navigation, and keyboard support item.

ADA Contrast and Legibility

There is enough contrast between text and its background so that it can be read by people with moderately low vision. The contrast is calculated in such a way that color is not a key factor so that people who have a color vision deficit will also have adequate contrast between the text and the background.

Screen Reader

Students get enhanced accessibility with features such as text-to-speech, interactive videos and how-to videos with interactive transcripts and voice-overs. We also provide Screen Reader Software: JAWS and NVDA for Windows and Voiceover for Mac.

Text Alternatives for Non-text Content

All non-text content is also available in text. We refer text as electronic text and not an image of text because the electronic text has a unique advantage that it is presentation netural.

Consistent Identification

Consistent identification is provided throughout our website like the same functionality repeats in several pages. A search functionality if available on one web page appears on several other pages of our website.

Sensory Characteristics

Some users with disabilities are not able to perceive shape or position because of the helping technologies they use. Our courses contain additional data to clarify the informaiton to the user.
